Our class schedule is eclectic so we can provide yoga that suits everyone. Our standard classes include slow vinyasa flow, beginners yoga, power yoga, restorative, kids yoga, and men's yoga.
Our teachers are also leading experts in the myriad of ways life experiences effect the human body and psyche. The yoga therapy classes aid an individual in resolving traumatic experiences through a mindful, physical practice. This is done by combining movement and breath work with psychodynamic theory.
Breath work and yoga are vital practices for those suffering from trauma, especially PTSD. It is likely that trauma, in any form, has left a residue or constriction in the physical body. For those who have been traumatized, it may not feel safe to live in the body. Such individuals have often developed protective parts that keep them living from the neck up. Yoga can be a gentle way for someone to reclaim his/her body and re establish a body/mind connection.
Individual and group yoga sessions are available in both standard formats and yoga therapy.
